The owner and creator of Jars Of Youth is a licensed clinical esthetician, who teamed up with doctors and scientists to formulate JOY. She is a working mother of young adults and teenagers. Not only that, but she also has a Master's in Clinical and Counseling Psychology. She has worked with men and women with self esteem issues for years and dealt with her own skin problems from acne to dull crepey skin. Being a woman of color (olive, east Indian skin tone) she has also had to battle hyperpigmentation and scarring. Many times our skin condition can cause us to hide from our ambitions or make us look older than we feel inside. Our skin is our biggest organ and we literally wear it on our sleeve for everyone to see. Unfortunately, today's world that we live in, is an appearance-obsessed society. Not only do we not want to age poorly but we also want to be flawless like the Instagram models and airbrushed magazine covers. Many times men and women pile on makeup to cover imperfections and only exacerbate the problem. Her goal is to help heal and treat the largest organ of the body to provide a healthy, glowing, and radiant canvas so that it is an issue of the past. One less thing to worry about so that you can concentrate on the most important priorities in your life, such as loved ones, career, and having fun!
The science of skin...The skin is a major safeguard tissue in humans. It is composed of the epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous tissue. These structures prevent the invasion of various microorganisms or pathogens and protect our bodies from physiological damage. The skin also prevents the excessive transpiration of moisture. These protective functions are called "barrier functions". Impaired barrier functions result in increased transepidermal water loss, which affects the epidermis and corneum stratum, which is the first most outer layer of skin. Furthermore, the skin undergoes oxidative damage by various stresses, including ultra-violet rays, which lead to the generation of reactive oxygen species. Damage can leak past the epidermis into the dermis and deeper layers, causing irreparable damage. This is why we must nourish the skin with quality care and high-quality ingredients. JOY penetrates the corneum stratum into the deeper layers of the skin to help repair past damage. It is also, very important to use sunscreen of SPF 30 daily in order to retain the benefits of a good skincare regime.
